Job Summary

The Department of Film and Media Studies at Colorado College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Film Studies (any area of specialization), beginning Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load. Teaching responsibilities will include core courses in the major, including Introduction to Film Studies, Film Theory, electives in the candidate's area of interest/specialization, and one "block" of teaching dedicated to advising senior thesis projects.

Colorado College operates under a unique academic model called the Block Plan. Students take one course at a time for three-and-a-half weeks with a four-day break between courses. Faculty teach six of the eight blocks in the academic year with the remaining two designated as non-teaching blocks.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Film Studies or related field, ABD considered.
