Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide essential daily services to students and parents, helping them understand the affordability of a Colorado College education. This role involves counseling potential applicants, students, and parents through the financial aid application process, with a special focus on supporting underrepresented populations who have incomplete applications. The candidate will manage financial aid processes within their area of expertise, serve as one of the first readers of completed financial aid paperwork, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree plus a minimum of two years of related experience in student financial aid or equivalent combination of education and experience, working directly with the general public, solving complex issues and facilitating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Experience in managing detailed processes, multitasking in an environment with frequent interruptions; proficient with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office; excellent math, oral and written communication skills; ability to think critically and solve problems; good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; excellent customer service and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and proficiency with industry-related software such as PowerFAIDS and Banner. Knowledge of federal Title IV regulations.
