Job Summary

The Paraprofessional - Mathematics provides a variety of support to department faculty, staff and students while contributing towards creating an inclusive learning environment in which all students can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the teaching of the Calculus sequence and other 100- and 200-level courses by holding regular office hours for students and running problem sessions. Any and all of these activities may at times be conducted on-line, as circumstances dictate.
  • Organize and manage student graders for mathematics courses.
  • Work with the administrative assistant to organize social events.
  • Communicate department events and opportunities.
  • Participate in department meetings and staff meetings.
  • Assist the co-chairs with activities at recruitment functions.
  • Assist in website updates.
  • Check course pre-requisites.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Mathematics or a closely related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent Colorado College graduate with familiarity of the Block Plan.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $20.03 per hour
