Job Summary
This role advances the college’s strategic mission by championing a holistic focus on people, place, and programs, while bringing renewed vision and energy to the co-curricular, extracurricular, and student support functions that shape the student experience. The position provides leadership and oversight for key areas, including Campus Activities, New Student Orientation, the Arts and Crafts Center, the Food Pantry, and the Worner Campus Center, ensuring these programs are engaging and aligned with institutional priorities.
Responsibilities
- Foster student success and excellence by providing an inclusive and respectful environment with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens and understanding; promote an environment and relationships with students and campus community that reflect inclusion and respect for diversity and equitable practices.
- Develop collaborative relationships with Student Life colleagues and other key partners and support the Vice President for Student Life and the Associate Vice President for Student Life in creating synergy between the Residential Experience and other co- and extra-curricular components of the student experience.
- Facilitate sustained and relevant engagement, connecting academic and non-academic life.

Campus Activities Duties:
- Assess the current Campus Activities model for effectiveness and efficacy, recommend changes to the Associate Vice President for Student Life, and execute those changes successfully.
- Supervise professional staff: Director of Arts & Crafts; Worner Center Operations Manager; Assistant Director of Campus Activities, Administrative Assistant, and Leadership Development and Fraternity/Sorority Life Coordinator (LFS) to include recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluation, and development; develop learning outcomes for the team.
- Direct and support campus activities programs, including the signature events such as Hallo-week, Llamapalooza, Block Break Programming, Campus Activities Nights, etc.; oversee recruitment of support for the events, manage contract negotiations within established divisional protocol; supervise participating staff and volunteers, and develop promotional initiatives.
- In collaboration with the Worner Center Manager, oversee the Worner Campus Center, including desk operations, facilities management, and coordinating improvements.
- Assist student events through the Student Events Summit, advising of student groups, and leadership trainings.
- Oversee the social media presence for the office, including regular website updates, and developing and enhancing social media and other publicity campaigns.
- In collaboration with the Residential Experience, work with the LFS coordinator on overseeing the Greek community and other programs that impact the residential communities.
- Serve as a main co-advisor to CCSGA student government, to include fostering leadership development, serving in an advocacy role, and interfacing regarding financial and other support for student events.
- Develop and track budgets for assigned program areas. Work with the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Student Life to develop the annual budget and requests for changes.

Student Orientation Duties:
- Assess, re-envision, plan, oversee, and deliver successful Fall and Winter Student Orientations to include schedule development; coordinating the planning team, and developing internal and external communication plans; be present throughout orientation, providing primary oversight.
- Play an integral role in the development of parent communication as it relates to orientation programs.
- Keep detailed and organized records; compile and disseminate reports; keep the AVP of Student Life and Vice President for Student Life/ Dean of Students well-informed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of four years of full-time experience in a collegiate setting working directly with students
- Demonstrated expertise in campus activities, planning and managing large-scale events, new student orientation, and student leadership development
- Must be available to work nights and weekends.
- Must have prior supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience advising students, working closely with faculty, building strong collaborations with colleagues, supervising staff, risk assessment, mitigation and reduction, and strong familiarity with a residential liberal arts environment.
- An understanding of and commitment to supporting diversity.
