Job Summary

The Asian Studies Program at Colorado College invites applications for a one-year visiting Assistant Professor starting in Fall 2025, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, contingent on satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in any disciplinary or interdisciplinary approaches to studying Asia, and will be able to teach Introduction to Asian Studies. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who have expertise in environmental studies, labor, immigration, or pop culture. The candidate must exhibit the potential for excellence in teaching to a diverse community of undergraduate students and be able to contribute to the curriculum for Asian Studies students at introductory and advanced levels. Finally, the candidate must share the institutional commitment to antiracist work.

Colorado College operates under a unique academic model called the Block Plan. Students take one course at a time for three-and-a-half weeks with a four-day break between courses. Faculty teach six of the eight blocks in the academic year with the remaining two designated as non-teaching blocks.
