About Us

Colorado College (“CC”) is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,300 undergraduate students and a small Master of Arts in teaching program. It is located on a 99-acre campus adjacent to downtown, ‘Olympic City’, Colorado Springs. The campus sits on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at the foot of Pikes Peak. The college operates an innovative curricular approach, known as the Block Plan, which entails students taking one course at a time for three and a half weeks, with the academic year divided into eight “blocks.” The Colorado College Department of Athletics sponsors 17 varsity programs. Fifteen programs compete at the NCAA Division III level and two at the Division I level. Division III programs are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), with the exception of Men’s Lacrosse (independent) and Women’s Lacrosse (WIAC affiliate). Division I Men’s Hockey is a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and Division I Women’s Soccer competes as an affiliate member of the Mountain West Conference (MWC).

Job Summary

The Occasional Arena Specialist plays a key role in the daily operations of Ed Robson Arena, ensuring a positive experience for all patrons through exceptional customer service, ticket scanning, and point-of-sale transactions. This position also supports facility upkeep, rentals, and event assistance to maintain a welcoming and well-functioning environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sale system to receive payments and off er excellent customer service to all patrons and visitors.
• Greet customers and guests with a courteous attitude and be willing to provide accurate information about the facility.
• Scan tickets for CC Hockey games.
• Assist with the rental and maintenance process of the skate inventory.
• Actively participate in the upkeep of the facility to include cleaning/disinfecting, and sweeping of general usage areas, such as lounges, benches, locker rooms, storage areas.
• Provide tours of the arena as needed.
• Assist with events held within the arena, both on and off of the ice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to recognize and troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to follow safety and security guidelines and exercise good judgement
  • Ability to uphold policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, facilities, and equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • General office skills to include operating of computers, copiers, and phones
  • Comfortable working in a team and independent environment under potentially stressful conditions
  • Proficient with computer software to include Microsoft Office
  • Ability to stand for prolonged times and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado College’s motor vehicle insurance carrier

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
