Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Housing Operations is responsible for the daily management of complex housing operations, including room assignments, financial transactions and tracking, and all forms of communication with campus and external partners. The role oversees housing operations for summer conferences and collaborates extensively across the Division of Student Life and other areas of the college to support efficient, effective, and mission-aligned housing processes. This position includes live-on and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Housing Operations:
    • Manage all housing related communications and multiple room assignment processes for all Colorado College students, with close collaboration and consultation with the Director of Housing & the Residential Experience, Housing Programs Coordinator, and the Residential Life Coordinators (RLCs).
    • StarRez Housing Software Power user with oversite of the housing portal, assignments data and records, billing records, reporting, rooms setup, inventories, and all other applicable processes.
    • Develop and recommend housing selection, assignment and room change policies and procedures to increase efficiency and clarity for students, parents/family, and staff.
    • Hire, train, and supervise Housing Programs Coordinator and department Administrative Assistant
    • Hire, train, and supervise Housing Office Student Staff in conjunction with Assistant Director of Residential Experience.
    • Leads the design, management, and maintenance of department’s website and other marketing/communications collateral materials, including brochures, maps, and social media.
    • Advances comprehensive short- and long-range planning efforts encompassing housing contracts and policies, assignment processes, communications, marketing, and technology systems.
    • Oversee all summer housing operations including management of summer school housing, hiring and supervision of housing summer student staff, host the summer preparations meeting.
    • Collaborate with the Office of College Events & Assistant Director of Residential Experience to implement summer conferences expectations.
    • Serve as a member of Residential Experience Leadership Team.
    • Serve in departmental on call rotation for residential community of 1800 students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus a minimum of three years of full-time housing or residence life experience
  • Experience with on-call and/or crisis response; previous supervision experience
  • Experience with housing management software, excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory results of a background check of candidate and their live-in spouse or partner (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional staff supervision experience; housing operations experience in higher education; knowledge of StarRez housing management systems.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $56,958 to $68,349 per year
