Job Summary

The position provides essential administrative and technical support to both the Admission and Financial Aid Offices, primarily during the peak application season. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations by assisting with application processing, data management, and communication workflows, contributing to the overall efficiency and responsiveness of these departments during high-volume periods.

Responsibilities

  • Use SLATE enrollment software to analyze and query data and records.
  • Complete initial review of submitted student and parent tax data to ensure that all required forms are received, and unnecessary forms are waived.
  • Establish and maintain financial aid application files, ensuring all pertinent data is accurately reflected in the student record.
  • Coordinate the collection and uploading of emailed and secure exchange documents; Route those images through workflow and place in appropriate digital archive files; Convert paper documents to digital images
  • Send and receive email correspondence from students and their families regarding missing application information
  • Perform data entry using PowerFAIDS financial aid software.
  • Perform clerical functions incidental to office activities including sending and receiving email, placing and receiving internal phone calls, and performing data entry.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus related experience in a customer service environment or in higher education administration;
  • proficient in word processing, reports, spreadsheets, e-mail, and computer software and database concepts;
  • proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and intermediate business math applications;
  • proficient in using multiple windows, file folders, and electronic organization;
  • demonstrated competency in using web applications such as Office 365 and customer service databases;
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills;
  • good judgment and organizational skills;
  • critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • ability to multitask and work productively with frequent interruptions;
  • ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college/associate’s degree;
  • experience in offices of admission, financial aid or similar higher education administration;
  • customer service experience;
  • experience with Technolutions Slate, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and customer relationship management software.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $17.50 per hour
