Job Summary

If so, we invite you to join our team as the Assistant Director of Residential Experience at Colorado College!

In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape the lived experience of students in a three-year residential campus, working alongside campus partners to foster an environment where students are supported, challenged, and inspired. Enjoy the convenience of an on-campus apartment as part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, Special Interest Housing, Language Houses, and student programs/activities around leadership, health and wellness, personal finance, and more.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support 2-4 Residential Life Coordinators (RLCs) and indirectly oversee a team of Resident Advisors (RAs).
  • Design and coordinate RA training & development programs, ensuring student leaders are well-prepared to support their communities.
  • Partner with the Director of Housing & Residential Experience and the Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Community Standards to uphold community standards and case management efforts.
  • Manage budgets for program areas, track expenditures, and contribute to annual budget planning.
  • Oversee summer residential operations, including Summer Conferences and Academic Summer Programs.
  • Serve in a rotating on-call capacity for a vibrant residential community of 1,800 students.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in student development, higher education administration, counseling, or other related degree plus a minimum of three years of post-master’s experience working in Residence Life, Housing, or student life; experience with on-call and/or crisis response; previous supervisory experience; excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Supervision of graduate assistants or professional staff; StarRez housing software and/or Maxient software experience; experience working in a private liberal arts institution.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $56,116 to $67,337 per year
