Job Summary

Join our team as the Associate Director of Parent & Family Giving. In this dynamic role, you will lead initiatives responsible for supporting a growing parent philanthropy program. Serve as a key member of the Annual Giving team tasked with the development and implementation of a comprehensive engagement and solicitation strategy for families of Colorado College students. Partner with alumni relations and development staff to research, recruit, and solicit high net worth families while contributing to enhanced engagement of high-capacity parents. Build relationships with a portfolio of potential annual and major gift donors.

Responsibilities

  • Under the advisement of the Director of Annual Giving; Develop, implement and manage programs and initiatives to instill a sustainable culture of philanthropy amongst current and past parents and families.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, secure, and steward gifts of $1,874 - $50,000 from current, past parents, and families.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships within the Colorado College Parents Council and provide strategic guidance and support to ensure the council's philanthropic outcomes. Actions to include, but not limited to, conducting in-person and virtual meetings, ensuring consistent ongoing individual and group communication, playing a key role in strategic events, and maintaining and enhancing the council and its members' online presence.
  • In support of wide-scale philanthropic outreach towards Parents and Families (Solicitations and Stewardship), provide insight to inform the development of direct marketing materials. Actions to include but not limited to contributing to the planning of strategic outreach, facilitating donor impact statements and visual assets, and providing the timely review of communication pieces.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Vice President for Development and Director of Major Gifts on executing parent and family engagement and fundraising strategies to include recruitment for Parents Council.
  • Closely partner with AVP for Advancement Services to ensure the collection, enhancement, and maintenance of critical biographical and supplementary constituent data for Parents and families.
  • Participate and embrace campus life and activities developing key partnerships beyond the Advancement team.
  • Professional travel to cultivate relationships to secure gift commitments, as well as to support event execution. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, and event coordination; ability to independently initiate, organize, and follow through with program plans; strong organizational and customer service skills; attention to detail with ability to set priorities and to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency simultaneously; able to operate with a high degree of independence, make decisions, solve problems and adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities; excellent verbal and written communications skills; knowledge of database management systems; flexibility to allow for travel and occasional evening and weekend work; discretion and mature judgement with confidential information. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado College’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.

  • Does not supervise others
  • Position requires driving CC vehicles (drivers must be eligible for coverage under CC's insurance plan)

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $56,485 to $67,339
