Job Summary

This position will be scheduled on an “as needed” basis to fill in as either a member of the security team in the galleries and/or as a customer service associate at the front desk and other locations. Both teams prioritize a high level of hospitality to welcome FAC visitors and ensure positive interactions and experiences. They serve as the “face of the FAC” on a daily basis, and strongly affect public perception. These team members must focus on a positive experience for every patron and staff member and be ready for anything. This position will also have the opportunity to sign up for shifts with house management and other events assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors in a friendly manner and engage them in creating an enhanced experience while visiting. Be ready to answer questions or redirect patrons to receive the best information. Manage patron needs as they arise; handle patron issues in a professional, caring, always respectful and diplomatic manner; exercise good judgment in identifying solutions in-the-moment to individual situations, questions and circumstances.
  • Maintain current knowledge about FAC events and programs and informing patrons of information related to all.
  • Attend regular trainings and certification courses (e.g. CPR) on security and safety procedures and standards. Attend regular information sessions and perform on-going study on the FAC’s history, collection, current exhibitions, theatre productions, art instruction classes, special events and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; shifts may include organizing and distributing will-call tickets on the day of theater performances; seating guests in the auditorium; conducting check-in/registration for special events; monitoring security cameras to ensure safety and security of all FAC building spaces; politely and professionally ensuring visitors maintain proper distance from objects in the galleries; escort/accompany outside workers/contractors to secure areas as needed.
  • Assist with event set-up and tear-down as needed. Be ready to support special events and last second needs for staff.
  • Maintain check-out log for FAC equipment, keycards, and keys, as needed.
  • Perform light custodial duties as needed to support a safe and positive patron experience, including sweeping, mopping, restroom restocking, trash removal, and snow removal.
  • Accept packages and mail at the loading dock and distribute as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a customer service or hospitality environment
  • Proven talents in providing superior hospitality with an enthusiastic, customer-focus approach
  • Excellent judgement and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in or ability to conduct basic software work with Patron Manager (Salesforce)
  • Basic accounting and math skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and set priorities, available to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background and knowledge of art history, museums, theater or education; technological skill to assist patrons with digital visitor aids.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $16.00 per hour
