Job Summary

Manages the execution of costumes, hair, make-up, attending personnel, budgets, and schedules for all CSFAC productions.

 

Responsibilities

· Oversee all aspects of the Costume Shop in strong partnership with staff, visiting artists and contracted employees. Ensure the completion of all costume, hair and make-up components for all productions.

· Hire and supervise Costume Shop staff (1-5 over-hire), volunteers, interns, and all wardrobe crews. Lead initiatives with clear communication and positive leadership.

· Determine timelines and financial feasibility of preliminary costume designs. Efficiently track changes and adjustments throughout the season. Manage costume budgets including staffing.

· Oversee all aspects of Wardrobe management during rehearsals and productions.

· Work to ensure materials and equipment are on hand and ready for projects to proceed in the costume shop.

· Supervise management of dressing rooms and costume shop, ensuring cleanliness and safety protocols are in place.

· Assist when appropriate with special FAC programming and events including educational programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in theatre costume design or equivalent experience plus a minimum of seven years of professional theatre costuming, wardrobe, and/or costume crafts experience; excellent leadership and supervision skills; industry knowledge of costume construction including but not limited to drafting, pattern making, draping, sewing, millinery, crafts, jewelry making and tailoring; budget management experience; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; general office skills, including PC/Microsoft proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in theatrical costume design and eight or more years of professional theatre costuming.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • Band D; $56,485/year
