About Us
Colorado College (“CC”) is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,100 undergraduate students and a small Master of Arts in teaching program. It is located on a 99-acre campus adjacent to downtown, ‘Olympic City’, Colorado Springs. The campus sits on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at the foot of Pikes Peak. The college operates an innovative curricular approach, known as the Block Plan, which entails students taking one course at a time for three and a half weeks, with the academic year divided into eight “blocks.” The Colorado College Department of Athletics sponsors 17 varsity programs. Fifteen programs compete at the NCAA Division III level and two at the Division I level. Division III programs are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), except for Men’s Lacrosse (independent) and Women’s Lacrosse (WIAC affiliate). Division I Men’s Hockey is a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and Division I Women’s Soccer competes as an affiliate member of the Mountain West Conference (MWC).
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to support holistic athlete performance and well-being through strategic programming and integrated care. This role ensures optimal training through collaboration with athletic trainers, coaches, and campus wellness partners, while maintaining compliance with NCAA and institutional standards. The coach oversees facility operations, equipment safety, and nutrition support, and contributes to sports science initiatives and intern development.
Responsibilities
Program Design & Athlete Development: Develop and implement sport-specific training programs to enhance strength, speed, flexibility, conditioning, and agility. Educate athletes on proper exercise techniques and safe equipment use. Provide nutrition counseling and injury prevention education.
Facility & Equipment Oversight: Supervise the Jerry Carle Strength & Conditioning Center, manage facility scheduling, equipment maintenance, and repairs, and oversee the CC Nutrition Fueling Station at El Pomar.
Team Support & Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with student-athletes, coaches, sports medicine, and athletics administrators, prioritize athlete safety and well-being, and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, institutional, and industry regulations.
Internship & Education Program Management: Lead the Sports Performance Internship Program, including hiring and curriculum development and stay current with evolving techniques, technologies, and philosophies in strength & conditioning.
Sports Science & Data Integration: Assist in sports science data collection and interpretation to inform training decisions.
