Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Director of Advancement Information Systems, responsible for shaping and managing the strategic direction of Advancement’s database and information systems. This role oversees the integrity, accessibility, and optimization of our database and information systems, ensuring accurate reporting, robust data analysis, and innovative solutions that support institutional goals. The Director will drive system enhancements, champion best practices in data management, and collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality insights and tools that advance our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Systems Management:
    • Oversee the alumni/development database and staff, ensuring that the information is accessible and of the highest integrity and accuracy; ensure documentation of and adherence to new and existing data processing procedures.
    • Implement updates, improvements and customizations to the Advancement CRM.
    • Anticipate the expanding and sophisticated information needs of Advancement and partner with the college’s information management department on hardware, software, systems, and database management to build and maintain a strategic framework of tools and systems.
    • Keep up with new technology and trends in Advancement.
  • Records Maintenance
    • Oversee and direct the records management team, maintaining the accuracy and health of the 100,000+ active records for alumni, parents, and friends and proactively acquiring new information.
    • Monitor and maintain benchmarks for data health.
    • Work with Campus ITS and other campus partners to integrate systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of data.
  • Reporting and Tracking:
    • Manage ticketing system for data and project request to ensure accuracy and timeliness of ad hoc and reoccurring information needs.
    • Design and oversee the building of high-quality reports and dashboards for both internal and external customers.
  • Departmental and Personnel Management:
    • Supervise a team of approximately five direct and indirect reports.
    • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and provide problem-solving assistance for staff; provide leadership, advocacy and professional development.
    • Oversee all budgets related to the Advancement Information Services Team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5 years of experience in a related field with at least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience

One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $81,689 to $100,070 per year
