Job Summary
Provide professional mental health medical services to the students of Colorado College, including medication management, medication assessment, prescribing, and coordination with Counseling Center Staff.
Responsibilities
· Provide medication review to students; meet with students to assess response to medications, need for new medications or medication changes; check for negative side-effects and refer for appropriate medical tests.
· Follow current Colorado Regulations for NP’s and/or PA’s.
· Provide professional support by phone to counseling center staff (24 hours) when necessary.
· Maintain appropriate medical records and complete electronic medical records of all services.
· Provide Electronic prescribing through Electronic Health Records and follow all state regulations regarding electronic prescribing.
· Assist with case management, hospitalization and consultation with other professionals, hospitals and facilities, regarding the care of students with mental health issues.
· Assist with referral and admission to psychiatric hospitals, when necessary.
· Maintain Personal Medical Malpractice Insurance and provide a copy of face sheet to the director.
· Attend Weekly case review meetings with staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Colorado Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with unencumbered license to practice in Colorado plus proof of an established history of providing direct medication management services to a mental health population; experience in treating college-aged patients is preferred. Must be knowledgeable of current psychopharmacologic treatments and remain current on recent research trends.
